The Antica Masseria Pezze d’Aglio is based in
the countryside of Fasano,
where the Murgia hills decline gently towards
the sea.
We are in the heart of Puglia, a southern region
of Italy,
known for its mild and welcoming climate all
year around,
its dry-stone walls and its rich, intense
flavours.
The farm operates over about 150 acres
cultivated with 8.000 olive trees, 2.000 of which are
centuries old Saracen trees,
witness to the ancient Apulian oil tradition.
Olives, picked by hand and also by mechanical
means,
are pressed directly on the farm in the modern
olive mill
and the extraordinary oil obtained
is preserved in stainless steel tanks
to keep its nutritional components
and all the organoleptic characteristics
intact.
